Hello Detectives!
Well I deiced it was time for you to meet on of our troupe members. Originally from the Maryland area Matt Goldstein is now a member of the Chicago troupe. I have had the pleasure of working with Matt and trust me he is a grand "murderer" ! I asked him some questions find out what he had to say!
1) How long have you been with the company? I have been with the company since (literally) Christmas Eve of 2011. My first job ever for MMC was a mix-n-mingle for a client at their house on Christmas Eve. Lots of fun. Good times.
2) What is your favorite part of being a "murderer"? My favorite part of being a murderer is seeing the enjoyment on people’s faces when we’re done with the show. What’s great about the show is that, regardless of whether you’ve done the same show five times in a row or not, it will be different each time because the audience is always new. A nice “bonus” for me is when we get those people who came in not really feeling the whole vibe at the outset, but then left happier than the person who brought them. Those who play suspects look exceptionally proud of themselves, and that’s always cool to see too.
3) Do you have a favorite show? If so why? My favorite show to be a part of would have to be 50’s Death @ The Doo-Wop theme. I have had the pleasure of playing Peter Palmer/P. Ness, Bobbi “The Wolf” Fairlane, and Slick Cool for those shows and I had an absolute blast playing each and every one of them because they are all so different from one another. With regards to character work, this is the show where I can flex my character chops the most.
Most favorite CHARACTER to play though would have to be Lancaster Doowie, because essentially all I do is channel my father’s lawyer-esque mannerisms whilst wearing his hand-me-down ties he used to wear as a full time partner. I am my father’s son.
4) Do you have a favorite story from all the mruders you have done? In my only two plus years with this company, I have seen and heard enough first hand to fill twice my tenure with craziness.
